Project Overview
Starting June 19, the City of East Wenatchee will begin the Safe Routes To School Project on 5th Street NE, in front of Kenroy Elementary and Sterling Junior High School. The City will be installing sidewalks, street lights, enhancing pedestrian crossings, bike lanes and making stormwater upgrades. This project is expected to go until November with the improvements in front of both schools scheduled to be completed prior to the 2023-24 school year beginning.
Detour Information
5th Street NE will be open to local access only, so homeowners can get in and out. All other traffic will need to follow the detour signs that will be in place.
Update: August 14-18, 5th Street will be closed by Dan White Field, between Grover & the EHS back parking lot.
