Public Right-of-Way Excavation

A permit is required to trench, dig, excavate, or penetrate any City right-of-way roadway, street, alleyway, sidewalk, curb, or gutter.

Excavation Fee

Improved Right-of-Ways

The standard fee for all street excavation permits to excavate improved (paved) right-of-ways pursuant to East Wenatchee Municipal Code Section 12.04.030(B) shall be $250, plus 50 cents per foot for each lineal foot of excavation in excess of 80 feet.

Unimproved Right-of-Ways

The standard fee for all street excavation permits to excavate unimproved (unpaved) right-of-ways pursuant to East Wenatchee Municipal Code Section 12.04.030(B) shall be $35, plus.50 cents per foot for each lineal foot of excavation in excess of 80 feet.

Newly Constructed or Resurfaced Streets

The fee for excavation of newly constructed or resurfaced streets pursuant to East Wenatchee Municipal Code Section 12.04.060, in instances when the City Street Superintendent has approved trenching, digging, excavation, or penetration of a newly constructed or resurfaced (overlayed) street (hereinafter "cut") shall be the fee required pursuant to Section 1 of this Resolution plus an additional fee as follows:

  • $1,500 if the cut is made within one year after the construction or resurfacing (overlay)of the street
  • $1,250 if the cut is made within two years after the construction or resurfacing (overlay) of the street
  • $1,000 if the cut is made within three years after the construction or resurfacing (overlay)of the street
  • $750 if the cut is made within four years after the construction or resurfacing (overlay) of the street
  • $500 if the cut is made within five years after the construction or resurfacing (overlay) of the street
